Tower Defence Fundamentals Most Guides Skip
Most tower defence guides tell you to upgrade your towers. Thanks, very helpful. The real skills are the ones nobody writes down, so here's what a few hundred levels taught me.
First: your opening placement matters more than any single upgrade. The map geometry decides how long enemies stay in your firing zones, and a tower in a mediocre spot will never outperform a cheaper one placed where paths cross.
Second: mix damage types early. Nearly every game throws armoured waves at you eventually, and if your whole board is one damage type you'll hit a wall around the midpoint.
Third: don't over-build. Spending everything leaves nothing for the emergency upgrade you'll want when a boss wave appears. Keep a small reserve and you'll feel in control.
None of this is flashy, but it's the difference between scraping through and clearing a level with lives to spare.
